![]() We've already done the helicopter tour of Maui/Molokai, the Flyin Hawaiian extreme zip line, the whale watching, Haleakala at sunrise, Iao Needle, the road to Hana (several times), and other great activities over the years. Why would anyone want to do a 2+ hour coconut farm tour when they are in paradise on vacation? I can only say that my wife and I have been to Maui 8 times now and always try to do ONE NEW THING on each visit. I wish Kai, Ryan, and the rest of the Punakea family the best of luck in their future endeavors and can't wait to see their progress when we return. It was a wholly enjoyable experience that was fun for everyone, from our 12 year old to our grandma. All in all, while it may not immediately seem like this is how you want to spend your morning or afternoon, but you couldn't be more wrong. At the end of the each group gets to make and take home a jar of coconut milk as well. And feel free to ask for more as Ryan was more than happy to oblige and share his passion for this magnificent plant. In the middle of the tour they open up a bunch of coconuts at different stages of their development so you can compare the coconut water and meat from each. You also get a bit of history of the area. The tour takes you on a short walk through the small coconut orchard where you'll learn all you could ever want about coconuts, the way they're grown, and the way they're prepared. The farm itself is absolutely gorgeous, situated on the hillside with beautiful views of the ocean. ![]() Ryan was such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide that no matter what your interest level in coconut is you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable time. We found Punakea Palms here on trip adviser and saw the great reviews and figured why not? It blew all our expectations out of the water. ![]() Our family has been coming to Maui for over a decade now and this year we decided to try some new things.
